The Hayward Powerline PL 81070 filter system is a monoblock setup for above-ground and in-ground pools, combining pump and sand filter on a single base. It gathers in a compact configuration the components needed for water circulation and filtration.

Indicative sizing: for pools up to around 24 m³ (24,000 liters), based on a theoretical 4-hour turnover at the nominal flow rate. Suitability must be checked according to piping, distance and height difference from the pool, and connected equipment, which can reduce the actual flow.

This version pairs a nominal flow rate of 6 m³/h with a 0.33 HP pump and a 400 mm diameter filter, with a planned load of 50 kg of filter sand.

Sand is not included and must be purchased separately.

400 mm Sand Filter and Integrated Prefilter

During turnover, the water passes through the sand bed, which traps suspended impurities before returning to the pool. The filter in this version provides a filtration area of 0.13 m².

The pump features a 1.1-liter prefilter to capture larger debris. The quick-open transparent lid makes it easy to check and clean the basket.

Multiport Valve and Maintenance

The top VARI-FLO™ valve lets you select filtration, backwash, rinse, waste, recirculate, and closed, plus the neutral position dedicated to winterizing.

The pressure gauge allows you to monitor filter pressure, while the sight glass lets you observe the water during backwash. Always switch off the pump before changing the valve position.

Materials and Compatibility with Water Treatment

The filter features a high-density blow-molded polyethylene tank. The pump is made of reinforced injection-molded resin, resistant to corrosion.

The unit is compatible with salt chlorination, in compliance with the water parameters and usage conditions indicated by the manufacturer.

Dimensions, Connections and Installation

The shared base keeps the pump and filter together in a single assembly. Connections are 1½" with fittings for 38 mm hoses. Check compatibility with existing piping and any required adapters.

For above-ground and in-ground pools, assess the unit’s position relative to the water level and follow the manufacturer’s installation guidelines. Leave enough space to access the valve, prefilter, and tank.
