What to do if the robot does not climb walls?

If your pool cleaner is unable to climb the walls, there are several possible causes. Here are some tips to solve the problem:

1. Check that the PH, chlorine and other chemical treatments have been performed regularly before using the robot.

2. Set the robot handle to maximum diagonal, because if set to horizontal position, the robot will not climb walls.

3. If you have recently purchased your robot from our site, since the robot has been previously tested in other pools, it is important to let it perform at least 5/10 complete cleaning cycles , without ever interrupting it, so that it can adjust and scan the dimensions of your pool. This will give it time to reset the cleaning cycle based on the specifications of your pool and consequently climb the walls normally.

4. Make sure the filter is clean and not clogged, especially when opening the pool, as 90% of the time, the robot does not go up because the filter is clogged.

5. Check that the walls are not too slippery, if they are, clean them all with a sponge brush or a cloth before using the robot.

Note: If the pool has just been opened, the robot may have some difficulty. Therefore, we recommend performing several cleaning cycles so that it can suck up all the dirt and bring the pool to a standard level of cleanliness.

If the problem persists after carefully following all the above points, please contact us.

What are the handle positions for?

Click to view image: CLICK HERE

The handle of the pool cleaning robot can be positioned at different angles depending on the model of the robot. The positions of the handle can be: horizontal (aligned), short diagonal (1,2) or long diagonal (3,4).

When the robot's handle is in the horizontal (aligned) position, the robot is unable to climb up vertical walls of the pool.

When the handle is in the short diagonal position (1,2), the lateral movement is slowed down, placing more emphasis and focusing more on the water line.

Conversely, when the handle is in the long diagonal position (3,4), the speed of the lateral movement is increased.

This position can be useful when you want a quicker cleaning or to cover larger areas of the pool surface.

Some models are equipped with only the long diagonal, which must always be kept set.

NOTE: The manufacturer also recommends reversing the diagonal position of the handle during each cleaning cycle to avoid twisting the cable.

What are the recommended chemical conditions?

Here are the recommended values for using the robot:

– the chlorine value must be less than 4 ppm,

– the pH value must be between 7 and 7.8

– the temperature value must be between 6 and 34 degrees (do not use with temperatures above 40 degrees)

– the salt value for electrolysis pools must be less than 5000 ppm.

As for depths, the robot is able to operate from 80 cm up to 5 m deep.

Do robots climb stairs too?

For a pool cleaning robot to clean the steps, they must be at least 40 cm high and deep. If not, it would be more convenient to use a brush to move the dirt to the bottom of the pool and let the robot work on cleaning the rest of the pool. Please note: only robots that can climb the walls can clean the steps, so make sure you choose a robot that is suitable for your needs.

What are the differences between the various filters?

Pool cleaners use different types of filters to remove dirt and debris particles from the pool. The main types of filters are those with a filtration capacity of 100 microns, 70 microns and 50 microns. Here are the main differences between these filters:

100 Micron Filter : This type of filter is capable of retaining larger particles, such as leaves, insects and larger debris. However, it may not be as effective at removing smaller particles such as sand and dust.

70 micron filter : This type of filter is able to retain medium-sized particles, such as sand, insects, soil, hair. It is more effective than the 100 micron filter in removing smaller particles.

50 micron filter : This type of filter has a finer filtering capacity, and is able to retain smaller particles such as algae, bacteria, sand, dust, limescale and various micro debris.

The higher the filtering capacity, the more accurate the filter is in retaining particles of different sizes. In any case, the choice of filter depends on individual needs, the conditions of the pool, and the presence of surrounding third-party factors.

Bottom line : Ideally, you should use a coarser filter when you first open your pool to remove larger debris that has accumulated over the winter or off-season. After that, you can switch to using a finer filter every day to keep your pool clean and clear.

However, the choice of filter also depends on personal preference and the specific conditions of the pool. For example, if the pool is surrounded by trees or shrubs, it may be necessary to use a coarser filter to continuously remove leaves and other medium/large plant debris.

Conversely, if the pool is exposed to agents such as dust or sand, it may be preferable to use a finer filter.

Does the robot work with all types of pools?

Before purchasing a pool cleaning robot, it is important to check the technical specifications of the model and make sure it is compatible with the type of pool you have.

Additionally, it is important to consider the size of the pool and the specific characteristics of your pool, such as the presence of steps, corners or particular shapes, to choose a pool cleaning robot that can effectively cover the entire surface of the pool.

How often should the robot be used?

The frequency of use of the pool cleaner robot depends on the specific needs of your pool. In general, it is recommended to run the pool cleaner robot at least once a week during the pool season.

However, the frequency of use of the robot depends on several factors, such as the size of the pool, the amount and type of debris present, the frequency of use of the pool, and the environmental conditions. For example, in a pool that is heavily used or exposed to wind and rain, it may be necessary to use the pool cleaner more frequently to keep the water clean.

Additionally, it is important to consider that the pool cleaning robot is not the only pool cleaning tool available.

Using other tools, such as nets and brushes, in combination with the pool cleaning robot can help keep the pool clean and tidy.

What to do if the robot detaches from the walls, floats and turns off?

If the robot detaches from the wall and then starts floating and then turns off, remove or close the floats on the handle and set a different handle position.

Then test different settings to calibrate the robot and consequently its movements in the water.

If the problem persists, contact the toll-free number or write to us via whatsapp in live chat.

What to do if the robot vacuum cleaner loses dirt?

Check the efficiency of the closing flaps on the filter holder support.

Check that the filter holder is not damaged.

Check that the filter does not have holes or surface imperfections.

If the problem persists, please contact us.

What is the difference between a cartridge and a bag filter?

Pool cleaning robots use two types of filters: cartridge and bag. The main differences between these two types of filters are as follows:

Cartridge filter : Uses a very practical cartridge that is easy to remove and rinse in a few seconds. This type of filter is ideal for quick and easy cleaning and maintenance, but may require more frequent replacement over the years than bag filters. The level and type of debris filtered depends mainly on the filtering capacity of the filter itself. Whether it is a bag or cartridge filter, the choice of micron of the filter material will determine the size of the particles retained.

Bag Filter : Uses a fabric bag that can hold more debris and can also be put in the washing machine for quick and easy cleaning. This type of filter tends to last longer than cartridge filters, and is therefore ideal for those who want less frequent but at the same time simple maintenance, with very effective and long-lasting performance.

In general, choosing between a cartridge filter and a bag filter depends on your individual preferences and the specific needs of your pool. It is important to consider the type of debris in your pool, how often you use your pool cleaner, and your maintenance needs.

In conclusion, both cartridge and bag filters are effective at removing debris from your pool, and the choice between the two comes down to personal preference and your specific practical needs.

How to clean the robot impeller?

Always perform a periodic check of the robot's fan, as often filaments such as hair and other debris present in the water can wrap around the fan. To clean, turn the back cover of the robot (if the model has screws, unscrew them) and remove the trapped debris. If necessary, check for debris in the propeller and remove it with the help of a tool. Then, reassemble everything correctly to ensure the robot works properly.

What is the robot cable for? How long should it be?

The pool cleaner cable is an electrical cable that provides power to the robot while it is cleaning the pool. The cable is connected to the external power source, which is a power supply that is plugged into the wall socket and transmits electrical energy to the robot to make it work.

The length of the robot's cable depends on the size of the pool. In general, the cable should be long enough to cover the entire surface of the pool. Most pool cleaning robots come with cables of varying lengths, usually between 12 and 30 meters.

It is important to choose a cable long enough to cover the entire surface of the pool.

PRACTICAL EXAMPLES:

18 meters cable for pools up to 12/15 meters

24 meters cable for pools up to 20 meters

30 meters cable for pools up to 25 meters.

How long does the pool robot take to clean?

The cleaning time of the robot may vary depending on the specific model. In general, home models require a cleaning time ranging from 1 to 3 hours, while commercial models may require 6 to 8 hours to complete the pool cleaning.

However, it is important to note that the cleaning time you choose when purchasing a robot depends on the size and condition of your pool. A larger or dirtier pool may require more time to clean, regardless of the robot model you use.

It is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions for using your pool cleaner and, where possible, set the cleaning time to suit your pool's specific needs. In general, it is recommended to run the cleaner for the full duration of its standard/default cleaning cycle (usually 1.5/2/3 hours for domestic models or 6/8 hours for commercial models).

For a very dirty pool or with a lot of debris, the robot may take longer to complete the cleaning. You can therefore set, where possible, the longest cleaning cycle, or simply repeat the standard cleaning cycle several times.

How to clean the robot filter?

Cleaning the filter of your pool cleaner is an important operation to ensure maximum efficiency and durability of the robot. Here's how to clean both the cartridge and bag filter:

Cartridge filter:

1. Remove the various filter cartridges from the pool cleaning robot.

2. Rinse the filters under running water to remove surface and internal debris.

3. Place the cartridges back into their containers and insert them into the robot.

Bag filter:

1. Remove the bag from the pool cleaner.

2. Empty the bag of all debris and rinse it under running water. (Or throw it in the washing machine on synthetic program, 40 degrees)

3. Put the bag back in the robot and lock it with the appropriate clips. (When we put the bag back, pay attention to the small blue mark, the mark indicates the correct position, it must be placed in the middle of the long side)

In general, it is recommended to clean the filter of your pool cleaning robot after each use.

Warning: Never leave the cartridge filters dirty after the robot has finished the cleaning cycle!

Does the robot help reduce the use of chemicals?

The pool cleaning robot can reduce the use of chemicals thanks to its ability to effectively remove dirt, debris and algae from the pool water.

By removing these contaminants, the robot helps keep pool water cleaner and tidier, reducing the need to use excessive amounts of pool cleaning chemicals.

Additionally, some pool cleaners come with advanced filtration systems that can even capture particles like bacteria and algae that may be difficult to remove with other cleaning tools. This means that a pool cleaner is essential for keeping your pool water cleaner and healthier, reducing the need to use large amounts of chemicals to disinfect the water.

What to do after the cleaning cycle is finished?

After the cleaning cycle, it is important to remove it from the water by the handle and turn it upside down to drain the accumulated water inside the robot and protect the brushes from damage. Afterwards, you should empty the debris collection bag and clean the pool cleaner to remove any debris or algae that may have accumulated during the cleaning cycle.

Always rinse with fresh water after each cycle if the pool in which it is regularly used has salt water.

To clean your pool cleaner, you can use a brush or damp cloth to remove any debris or algae from the brushes and external parts of the cleaner.

Additionally, it is important to remove and clean the pool cleaner's filter, following the filter cleaning and maintenance instructions.

After cleaning the robot, it is necessary to store it in a dry and safe place, preferably indoors, to protect it from bad weather and direct sunlight.

What are the ideal water temperatures for using the robot?

Most robotic pool cleaners are designed to operate in a wide range of water temperatures.

However, the ideal water temperature for using your pool cleaning robot may vary depending on the robot model and manufacturer specifications.

In general, most robots can operate in water temperatures between 6°C and 34°C.

It is important to always check the manufacturer's specifications to find out the maximum and minimum temperatures at which the pool cleaning robot can be used.

When to open the floats on the handle of the new models?

The foldable floats on the robot handles are opened when the robot needs to be used in pools of different depths, or in the presence of very deep diving areas or very narrow radii.

This allows the robot to maintain the right immersion depth to efficiently and safely clean all parts of the pool, without getting stuck in corners or lifting too much from the water surface.

The rotowash is suitable for many types of floors, including uneven ones. Thanks to its rotating brushes, the rotowash is able to effectively clean even uneven surfaces, such as tiles, terracotta floors, natural stone floors, floors with large joints, and so on.

What detergent should I use and in what dosage?

The ideal detergent to use with the Rotowash must be exclusively NON-foaming, in order to avoid problems related to the high pressure of the brushes. It is advisable to use the dosage recommended by the detergent manufacturer, which generally varies between 5% and 8% based on the indications of the product itself.

It is also important to choose a detergent that is suitable for the type of surface you are cleaning. For example, if it is a very dirty or greasy surface, you may need to use a more degreasing detergent. If you want to achieve a polishing effect, you may want to opt for a specific polishing detergent.

Alternatively, you can use a solution of water and simple ammonia, mixing one tablespoon of ammonia for each liter of water.

What is the side knob for?

The side knob of the Rotowash, where present, is used to adjust the height of the machine and therefore the pressure exerted by the rotating brushes on the surface to be cleaned.

The side knob allows you to adjust the height of the machine so that the rotating brushes adapt to the type of surface being cleaned.

For hard floors, the pressure should be set to maximum, while for carpets or long-pile rugs, the pressure should be set to minimum. This prevents damage to delicate surfaces and ensures optimal cleaning of different types of surfaces.

Which brushes should I use for which type of floor?

To choose the right brushes for the type of floor, it is important to consider the hardness of the surface and the type of dirt present.

For hard floors, we recommend brushes with stiff bristles, which can effectively remove encrusted dirt and stains.

(These type of standard brushes are supplied new when purchasing the Rotowash.)

For delicate floors, carpets and rugs, we recommend brushes with soft bristles, which clean gently but effectively without scratching or damaging the surface.

It is important to choose the right brushes for the type of floor to be cleaned, to avoid damaging the surface and to ensure effective and complete cleaning.

How often should you reverse the brushes?

Periodically reversing the Rotowash brushes, alternating the direction of rotation of each, can help improve the performance of the machine. The frequency of brush changes depends on the use of the machine:

– if used daily, it is recommended to reverse the brushes at least once a month

– if used weekly, it is recommended to reverse them every 3 months

– if the machine is used occasionally, the brushes should be reversed every 6 months.

What to do if some halos remain?

If after cleaning, there are still streaks on the surface, there are some actions you can take to remove them.

First, it may be useful to go over the affected area several times dry, without using water/detergent. (The Rotowash, if used dry, acts as a polisher).

NOTE: Be careful with detergent dosages, which if excessive, could cause the presence of halos.

Also, it is important to understand how often to release water. By using it over time, you will become aware of the frequency of release based on the results obtained.

Alternatively, if necessary, you can quickly wipe it down with a rag to remove any residual streaks.

(While the machine removes stubborn and accumulated dirt, the classic rag provides a final polish.)

In any case, it is important to pay attention to the type of surface to be cleaned and to use a suitable detergent, diluted correctly.
